In March 2015, I volunteered to become a joint Co-ordinator along with Conor O’Donovan of the Galway Startup Businesses Meetup which is now a subgroup of Startup Galway and rebranded as Startup Galway Pitches Meetup. The idea of the group is to provide a forum for early stage startups to network with their peers, with founders of established startups and with members of the business community with an interest in startups. The meetup also aims to assist everyone to keep up to speed with enterprise agency and other supports available to startups in Galway.
It is envisaged that the Meetup will convene on the last Friday of every month – six to eight FREE events per annum. At each session two startups will take the opportunity to practice, amongst friends, a pitch that they have to deliver for their business.
Pitch Meetup Update – December 2016
This Meetup after convening on 15 occasions has come to a natural end after nearly two years. Startup Blink continues so feel free to join their Meetup group and RSVP to attend their future events. I would also advocate joining WorkBench Wednesday’s meetup group which meets once a month in the evenings.
